The tour package is a journey through one of the most emblematic areas of coffee production in Nicaragua, the community's founder, which is produced, processed and exported one of the best coffees in the world.

DAY 1

Departure from Managua to get to La Fundadora. We will make a nice drive down the road of Jinotega and Matagalpa, considered by many the most beautiful in Nicaragua. The road runs along the ridge Isabelia, among a wooded and cool climate, and is also an essential of Nicaraguan production.

Arrive at La Fundadora, the mountain eco-lodge "Entre brisas y encantos", where we get the cooperative La Jigüina. We begin a tour of the community in which we know the history, the cultures, the many legends and lifestyle of the La Fundadora’s people.

At the end we will have lunch. Later we will go to a coffee farm to learn more about the culture, the different varieties and coffee marketing process. If harvest time we may participate directly in the work of cutting, pulping, washing and drying on the farm.

We will Jigüina Coffee tasting, accompanied by some bagels made in the community. The Jigüina Coffee is a "culture introduced in the mid-nineteenth century by the industrious hands of men and women united in cooperatives."

Accommodation at the eco-lodge and dinner.

Breakfast at the eco-lodge. They offer two options: horseback tour enjoying a tour of the paths and roads of the Founder. Or tour the Reserve Datanlí-El Diablo, La Esmeralda community with a walk through forest to the waterfall La Bujona. Finally, we have lunch at the eco-lodge and depart back to Managua.
