The biggest sweet water island in the world, created by two amazing volcanoes
Ometepe is the biggest sweet water island in the world and is created by two amazing volcanoes, the Maderas and the Concepcion Volcanoes. The Concepcion Volcano is active nowadays. Furthermore, Ometepe has a very interesting and diverse fauna, an enormous diversity of birds and fish and amazing vegetation too.
In Ometepe we could find a pre-Columbian culture, the Water Eye, the volcanoes… In our tour, we suggest to visit the pre-Columbian “Petroglifos”, Madera’s Volcano, go for a walk, enjoy resting on the Santo Domingo beach seashore with local people, and get to know the bananas, tobacco, rice and vegetable planting.
