RUTA DEL CAFÉ: Montañas de la fundadora, Cooperativa La Jigüiina

Nicaragua produces some of the best coffee in the world. The Nicaraguan coffee production is located in the north of the country.
Rutas Escondidas proposes starting our route with a beautiful walk, onto forest landscape and the fresh climate in the Fundadora Mountains. From Matagalapa, where there is an important coffee production, to Jinotega, where it is foggy and has another large coffee production.
In that route we will visit the Jigüina cooperative, which harvests its coffee on Fundadoras’s mountains over the Jigüina river. In that place we could see the production process of coffee.
Then, we will visit the place where Jigüina coffee is processed, packed and certified.
